Hello! I'm Daniel Kihlgren Kallander, though most people tend to call me Dee-Kej (or just "DK". So many Daniels in Sweden!). By day, I'm Lead Game Designer and (regular) Programmer at SVRVIVE Studios, based in Stockholm, Sweden. We released our first game, SVRVIVE: The Deus Helix , back in November 2016 for Vive and we're currently busy working on both porting that as well as laying the groundwork for our next (unannounced) title. Beyond that, I'm also one of the co-founders of Stockholm VR Meetup, and I've been doing talks about VR development in various forms for over 3 years. I've been looking forward to the arrival of VR since I was a wee kid, and I've been actively tinkering with VR since early 2013.
Ask me anything!
Moderator note: Daniel also wrote a very interesting piece recapping the last 5 years of VR earlier this month that we recommend you check out!
Update: Aaaand that's that! Thank you for the questi...
Daniel, thank you so much for your answer. And yes, I am a fan of side projects and learning outside of school on my own time with things that I am passionate about. Also, I like open source t...
There has been a lot of work being done in trying to capture more live scenes - from everything 360-related such as the Samsung 360 camera all the way to Jaunt's camera arrays, to the experime...
Hi everyone! I'm Smeet and I'm one of the founders of Chymera VR, a Virtual Reality AdTech startup. We believe in potential of VR as the most immersive platform for brand building and storytelling, and want to provide the best revenue and discovery channels in VR. Our product is a monetization platform exclusively for VR, enabling VR developers to monetize their content, advertisers to engage with target audience in VR and consumers to experience VR for free.
I would love to answer your questions on Monetization and Business Strategies in VR, as well as all things VR/AR. Ask me anything!
Excellent question and something which we brainstorm everyday. As you correctly referred to the chicken-egg problem, ours is a Publisher-first strategy.
Currently it is tough to show scale to brands, so we...
Biggest lesson while starting-up for an early stage platform like VR is to take projection/growth numbers from so-called industry analysts and experts with a pinch of salt with never losing focus on product. It is easy to get carried away either way.
Consumer VR headsets were launched in Q1 2016, and w...
Hey there! My name is Bilawal Sidhu and I'm a VR Producer and Creative Technologist at Imaginfinity. We specialize in producing VR and Mixed Media content. Beyond reaching a wide audience on Facebook and YouTube, our work has been featured by the likes of Autodesk, SamsungVR, Vrideo and VeeR.tv.
The CG bug bit me early. As a tween, it was making short films with a boat load of VFX. At USC, my passion for CG/VFX dovetailed into Human-Computer Interaction, coming full circle into enterprise AR and VR while working at Deloitte Digital post-graduation.
Beyond making sweet content, I am deeply passionate about democratizing VR content creation to attract new and diverse voices into the formative period of what is arguably the final creative medium. Whether you have questions about business model implications of spatial computing (VR/MR/AR), or the nitty gritty on how to actually make this stuff, I'm all ears.

Hi everyone! I'm Trevor and I've been designing professionally for 4+ years. Here's a little bit about me:
Started off as a print designer: brochures, flyers, posters for charities and small businesses. Moved into spatial design and art direction when I graduated, was then hired as a consultant by LEGO to work with the .com redesign team—this was my first step into web design and the first time I'd encountered the UX process. Soon after that finished, I began working at 100 Shapes. In the last 3 years I have, in a nutshell, created brand identities, style + component guides and interfaces for enterprise and non-profit as well as smaller web products and apps. We're only until recently, diving into the world of VR/AR...MR—the uses in the industries we currently work with. There's a massive use-case for the technology and we're aiming to help enterprise rethink their current workspace by designing some high-level interaction guidelines and potential uses.
Moderator note: We are very excited to have Trevor do this for us - you should ask him about UI design, UX process, Graphi...
