DARPA applying Artificial Intelligence for realtime cognitive electronic warfare
Modern radar and communications systems can subtly and quickly change their character, making them harder for U.S. aircraft and other platforms to jam or spoof. That reality is prompting DARPA to lead industry teams to apply artificial intelligence to electronic warfare. It's called "cognitive EW."
It's interesting that DARPA had invented its approach to electronic warfare (EW) in the 70s, but those were more rule based approaches, i.e. IfX is detected, do Y. Now radar and other communi...

This is Japan's first case of an AI saving someone's life!
It's inevitable that a computer with access to tens of millions of medical records can more accurately diagnose a human than a doctor can. Though an AI cannot compete with a doctor's experienc...

Deep Dream Generator is learning how to paint
Initially developed as a way for researchers to see what a neural network saw when it looked at an image, now its being use to create original artwork. The algorithm learns a painting style and applies it to other images that it sees.
