- What is a community?
- What are channels and what do I use them for?
- I cannot find a community around something I’m interested in. How do I start one?
A community on Commonlounge is a place where its members can post anything that interests them and want to discuss with others. Communities have channels which make it easy to organize the content as it grows. Looking for some interesting communities? Try clicking Explore Communities on the sidebar (or just tap the search icon on top if you’re on mobile)
Channels streamline content within a community as it grows. It’s a way to organize the discussions within a community into different buckets so that you can get to what you are most interested in faster.
That’s awesome! We are still very new and are actively looking for ideas for new communities as well as moderators to own them - we will help you along the way as much as we can, but we want you to be the owner of the communities you start. You can start a community by going to your communities page and clicking the + button on top right. If you don’t feel comfortable starting a community at the moment and would like to just request one, leave a reply on this discussion: What new communities would you like to see here? or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you just joined and have not been approved yet.
