Back in April, Comcast bumped its data cap from 300GB to 1TB after consumer backlash and renewed regulatory concern from the FCC. Comcast's home internet data caps are going live for a majority of customers starting November 1st, the company announced today.
Though this plan had already been active in a few states, its now being rolled out more widely. Comcast said it doesn't affect 99% of their customers, but as 4k streaming and VR become more the norm, these data caps will have to greatly increase.
I believe other countries already have these sorts of data limits in place, it'll be interesting to see how people here react.
