You will be asked to write a specific essay on how UPenn will help you achieve and explore your intellectual and academic pursuits.
This essay is crucial shows the admissions committee whether you are actually interested in coming to UPenn or if you're just generically copying essays you have written for another college. They want to see that you've done some research about the university, it's programs, culture, etc. They want to admit those students who are the best fit AND who are super excited about coming to UPenn.
Be sure to answer the question or questions that are being asked of you. We understand that you may be writing essays for different schools and you may be looking to reuse material, but read through your essay to make sure your essay is relevant to the essay prompt. Essay topics are chosen because the Admissions Committee wants to know these specific things about you. If you do not address the question directly, the Admissions Committee is left with having to make decisions regarding your application with incomplete information. ~ Penn Admissions
If you're applying to one of the specialized dual-degree programs, make sure you explain how you embody both disciplines and how you'll leverage UPenn to make the most out of the interdisciplinary program. These programs are highly selective so don't write generic answers and do thorough research on each of the programs.
