Hello there! Just wanted to pin this note to welcome you to SSG community on Commonlounge. Commonlounge is a little different and there are four major reasons we started this community:
Complement to the Slack Group: We have a really good time discussing stuff in the Slack group, but it's hard to hold Q&A Sessions, or have deeper discussions that you may want to revisit later. It's closer to a good place to hang out, like a modern IRC chat, but there's no good equivalent modern forum to it :)
Q&A Sessions: Q&A Sessions are a really good way for a community to learn from the industry insiders, and get their thoughts on where they see the space moving. It's also a good way for founders, designers and engineers on the front lines to talk about their experiences. Commonlounge supports native Q&A Sessions and the process of tagging every reply makes it easy to filter later on, leading to a better consumption experience. Check out a sample here: Q&A Session with Anthony Faria (Director of Product Design, Handshake Corp.)
Playlists: Have you ever wanted to go through a collection of articles, but never got around. We support playlists which let you do exactly that, by tracking and optionally subscribing to weekly email reminders to send you the next item on the list. Wanted to get through every essay on Startups Paul Graham has written? Now there's a playlist for that: Paul Graham's Startups Essays Playlist
Curation: Invite-Only nature of the community means that only the accepted members of SSG Slack Group can start top level discussions, and we love it when members make sure that they are adding value to the community when they post.
That's pretty much it! Don't forget to share a link to this community with your friends who are also into Startups wherever you hang out with them — Slack, Twitter, FB Groups etc. Hopefully we can have this space as our place to help each other out, host some amazing industry insiders for Q&A Sessions and stay updated with the latest! Questions or feedback? Hit that Reply button and let us know (or I'm also available @anant90 on SSG Slack)
