YES to every word of this, haha! I couldn't agree more. "We are the results of so many coincidental mutations, that it feels almost wasteful to revel in stability." belongs on a poster somewhere. Maybe everywhere. Thank you so much again for taking the time to read, reflect, and share your thoughts! :)
Thank you so much for your reply, Prabhav! :) I'm still very new to sharing my writing, so I treasure any sign that any of these rambling musings are resonating with others. You made my week, haha! I guess I was prompted by my own personal experience with the restlessness that soon follows an epiphany or some deep insight for which I'd previously longed. I'm not a fan of stable paradigms, so I'm always seeking out ways to shift them. I've observed that counter to what many of us profess, we enjoy those moments that cause us to question everything that we think we know. We can only reach those moments when we are jolted out of our peace and find ourselves awakening in some new (and probably a little scary!) understanding. From that new place, we make new decisions, find new mountains to climb, discover new strengths, and vanquish new weaknesses. Yes, I think "this relentless drive" defines us as a species, but I agree that it isn't sustainable without the occasional pause to tally up all that we've been given and all that we've done. Thank you again, Prabhav, for reading and for leaving such a thoughtful reply! :)
Thank you so much for reading and for the kind words! :)
