Hi Rohan, Here is the explanation.

\frac{\partial q}{\partial x} = \frac{\partial (x+y)}{\partial x} = \frac{\partial x}{\partial x} + \frac{\partial y}{\partial x} = 1,

\frac{\partial q}{\partial y} = \frac{\partial (x+y)}{\partial y} = \frac{\partial x}{\partial y} + \frac{\partial y}{\partial y} = 1
